WHO WE ARE
Blind Sports WA is the peak body supporting new and existing sports for the blind and vision impaired community. The association is a not for profit THAT PRIDES ITSELF ON BEING run by AND RUN for PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY. The ASSOCIATION aims to achieve the following:
To promote blind sports to the Western Australian community as a worthwhile activity to increase social inclusion and for a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
To increase participation in sport for people who are blind or vision impaired.
To advocate on behalf of members at local, state, and national level.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
A committee member is one of the Association’s ordinary members elected to represent on the committee. The Committee Member may be responsible for the following duties:
• Participate in meetings;
• Voting on key directions and decisions addressed by the committee;
• Ensuring the association is run according to its rules and any other strategic plan that has been agreed to;
• Support the office holders with various operational duties in a officer capacity. For instance, membership officer, grants, or fundraising officer.
