PSC Blind Team take on the Perth Glory for 2-0 Win

Find your sport with Blind Sports WA

The team from Blind Sports WA had a fantastic time at the Perth Disability Connection Expo, where we embraced the spirit of the event by dressing up and making meaningful connections with both new faces and familiar friends.

It was an incredible opportunity to share information about the wide range of blind sports available and raise awareness about the importance of inclusion and accessibility in sports.

The energy and enthusiasm at the expo were contagious, and the Blind Sports WA team left feeling inspired and grateful for the chance to engage with the community in such a vibrant and impactful way.

Winter Wonderland Holiday Program Fun!

Recently, Blind Sports WA hosted the Let's Get Visible: Winter Wonderland School Holiday Program, a thrilling adventure tailored for blind and vision-impaired children. Over four days, kids immersed themselves in winter-themed activities and sports at various locations around Perth.

In the first week, activities included a train ride to Vic Park for blind basketball game design, movement to music with our friends from Ballroom and taco making using adaptive equipment. The program also featured LEGO adventures in Fremantle where kids found all the locations using accessible maps to win their own lego model, and played with our special Braille LEGO set.

During the second week, participants explored the history of gaming at Australia’s Video Game Console Museum, Nostalgia Box, crafted their own accessible game tile and enjoyed an audio-described screening of Frozen. They also engaged in a clay snowman workshop and ten-pin bowling in the city.

Located at Blind Sports WA HQ in West Perth, the program aimed to foster friendship, learning, and fun in a supportive environment, highlighting inclusivity and winter-themed excitement throughout the school holidays.

We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again in the next school holidays! We just can't wait for the next school holidays!

Continue the fun at our Term 3 after-school program, with new activities and equipment.

Blind Sports WA recently hosted the "Unlocking Potential" seminar, focusing on enhancing support for individuals with vision impairments. This interactive event covered Vision Loss Awareness, communication, sighted guiding, technology, coaching strategies, and featured a preview of our BVI Toolkit.

We had a diverse range of individuals from many different fields who gained practical strategies for fostering inclusive communities for those with vision impairments.
