Powerlifting - A New Opportunity for Blind and Vision Impaired Individuals

Blind Sports WA is excited to introduce powerlifting as a new sport for blind and vision-impaired individuals! This sport offers amazing health benefits, including increased strength, better cardiovascular health, improved coordination, and sharper mental focus.

Powerlifting for All with Physique Training  Through Physique Training's “Powerlifting for All” program, people of all abilities and fitness levels are encouraged to give powerlifting a go. As a Paralympic sport, powerlifting challenges your upper body strength in the bench press, with winners determined by how much weight they lift relative to their body weight.

An Inclusive and Supportive Environment  Whether you’re lifting for fun or dreaming of becoming a top athlete like Benny Wright, powerlifting is a sport without limitations. You’ll find a welcoming community, make new friends, and push yourself in a safe, supportive environment. Current athletes like Tyson, a record-setting powerlifter, show what’s possible when you take part!

Accessible Training Facilities at Physique Training  Physique Training’s gym is fully accessible and designed with blind and vision-impaired athletes in mind, featuring braille signage, wide spaces, and expert coaches who provide one-on-one guidance. There’s no need for special equipment, just bring your determination!

Come and Try Powerlifting Today!  Come down for a free training session and test your strength today—whether you're starting with 20kg or 200kg, we’ll be here to support your journey! NDIS funding options are available.
