Welcome to Blind AFL with Blind Sports WA! 

We are thrilled to introduce you to an exciting, inclusive way to experience Australian Rules Football tailored specifically for individuals who are blind or vision impaired.

What is Blind AFL?

Blind AFL is a modified version of Australian Rules Football designed to be accessible for players with vision impairments. The game is adapted to ensure everyone can participate safely and enjoyably, regardless of their level of vision.

Game Modifications:

In Blind AFL, the ball has a sound device to help players locate it by sound. The field is smaller, and teams are often reduced in size to create a more manageable playing environment. Additional modifications include tactile markings on the ground and the use of high-contrast or brightly colored equipment.

Who Can Play?

Blind AFL is open to individuals who are blind or vision impaired, regardless of experience level and suitable for ages 14 and up.  Whether you're a seasoned athlete or trying out a new sport, Blind AFL welcomes you.

How to Get Involved:

Joining Blind AFL is easy! Blind Sports WA is offering a FREE eight week program that includes fortnightly training sessions, skill development and matches. 

When: 1:30pm to 3:30pm, on the following Saturday afternoons:

Session 1: 22 June, 

Session 2: 6 July

Session 3: 20 July

Session 4: 3 Aug

Session 5: 10 Aug

Session 6: 24 Aug

Session 7: 7 Sept 

Session 8: 21 Sept

Where:  Armadale Arena, 4 Townley Street, Armadale. - on the Basketball Courts

What to Bring:  Equipment is provided, just wear comfy clothes, running shoes and bring a water bottle.
