WHO ARE WE
Blind Sports WA is the peak body supporting new and existing sports for the blind and vision impaired community. The Association is a not for profit that prides itself on being run by and run for people with disability
The Association aims to achieve the following:
To promote blind sports to the Western Australian community as a worthwhile activity to increase social inclusion and for a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
To increase participation in sport for people who are blind or vision impaired.
To advocate on behalf of members at local, state, and national level.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The treasurer is primarily responsible for managing the finances of the association. This involves:
• Maintaining all financial records.
• Monitoring the income and expenditure of the association.
• Keeping committee members informed of the financial position of the association.
• Preparing and presenting financial statements to the Annual General Meeting.
• Allocating funds.
• Developing budgets for new projects.
• Making payments and bank deposits.
• Preparing and managing the budget.
• Representing the association on funding applications; and
• Maintaining custody of all securities, books, and documents of a financial nature.
