Annual General Meeting Minutes 2023–2024

Chairperson’s Report

BR presented the Annual Report, thanked all members for their contributions, and highlighted achievements throughout the year.
Refer to the attached Annual Report.

Treasurer’s Report

BR presented the Profit and Loss Statement for 2023–2024.
The motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was moved by RHW and carried unanimously.

Previous AGM Minutes

The motion to accept the minutes from the previous AGM was moved by BR and carried unanimously.

Election of Committee Members

BR advised that the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Member were vacant and open for election. With no prior nominations, expressions were taken from the floor.

• Committee Member:
  NM nominated for the role and was elected unopposed.

• Secretary:
  Julie Henderson-Cavallo agreed to take on the role.

• Treasurer:
  No nominations were received. BR advised that the Board would seek to appoint a Treasurer and report back accordingly.

BR welcomed the new committee and confirmed that the formal business of the AGM was concluded.

General Business

• Membership Fees
  BR noted that membership fees are determined by the committee. After discussion, the committee elected to keep the membership fee at $25.
  Motion moved by BR and carried unanimously.

• Charity Status
  RHW raised the proposal for BSWA to pursue charity status in 2025. The committee agreed to begin the process as soon as possible.
  Motion moved by BR and carried unanimously.

• Southwest Opportunities
  NM shared her appreciation for the growth occurring in the Southwest, particularly in tennis and golf, and expressed enthusiasm for the year ahead. The committee echoed this positive outlook.
